15 move Hyderabad High Court against acquisition of land

Hyderabad: As many as 15 farmers from Thogutta mandal of Medak district in TS have moved the Hyderabad High Court challenging acquisition of their land for construction of the Mallannasagar project through GO Ms No 123.

A. Ranga Reddy and 14 other farmers of the mandal moved the plea alleging that the authorities indulging in coercive methods in acquiring their lands though they were not willing to give it through GO 123 issued recently by the TS government.

They said that they are not against the project, but were opposing the forcible acquisition of lands and urged the court to direct the government to acquire lands under the Land Acquisition Act 2013.
