As many as 14 roads are still closed in Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) area, affecting 20 lakh residents.

Hyderabad: The Local Military Authority (LMA) has studied the traffic behaviour on AOC roads in the Secunderabad Cantonment Board following the reopening of 11 roads. Its analysis of the data will be conveyed to the Union ministry of defence on a speficied format, sources said.

The defence ministry had issued the question and answer format to 62 cantonments, which had to be  answered and returned by June 25. The questionnaire mainly dealt with the intensity of traffic movement after the roads were reopened by the LMA.

The Local Military Authority studied the traffic movement at four junctions — Ordnance Road, Allahabad Gate, Wellington Road and Gough Road — where the night-time restrictions from 10 pm to 7 pm were lifted.

The Local Military Authority also checked the movement of vehicles at  Rajendra Sinhji Road, Golf Course, Balajinagar, Puri Singh Marg, Surender Marg, Flag Staff Road and six others that were opened following a defence ministry order last month.

Sources said a marathon  meeting was held on Monday to discuss the contents of the report.
