CD' Mani, associates sent to Puzhal prison
CD' Mani was arrested after secret information and was rounded up by the police.
Chennai: Notorious gangster ‘CD’ Mani and his associates arrested by the special team of the anti-gangster squad of city police, have been remanded in judicial custody.
‘CD’ Mani (31) and his associates — Vinoth Kumar, Suresh, Ilangovan, Madhavan, Sivakumar and Hariharan - were arrested from their hideout in Muttukadu on Sunday morning and were produced in Alandur court, where magistrate Sultan Aribeen ordered police to sent the arrested persons to judicial remand till July 3. Following the order, ‘CD’ Mani and 6 associates were sent to Puzhal prison.
According to police ‘CD’ Mani has 28 murder and attempt to murder cases in KK Nagar, Mambalam, Saidapet, Kooturpuram, Adyar, MGR Nagar, Pondy Bazaar, Kumaran Nagar, Kanathur and Pallikaranai police stations. The police had formed three special teams to nab him. Vinoth Kumar and Suresh have 8 cases against them. Hariharan has 7 pending cases.
‘CD’ Mani was arrested after secret information and was rounded up by the police. He is the notorious gangster operating in Chennai and has been indulging in real estate related crime extortions. He has also been helping some realtors in settling real estate deals, police said.
