On Grama tour, reality bites for CM HD Kumaraswamy
The cost could be anywhere between Rs 35-50 lakh, said an organiser.
Raichur: If Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy's “Grama Vastavya” is intended to provide him enlightening insights into the reality in Karnataka’s villages where food, water supply and sanitation are a challenge, he may only see a manufactured upside when he visits Karegudda village, Manvi taluk of Raichur on Wednesday.
Officials have gone overboard by splurging Rs 30-50 lakh on erecting a massive pandal and planning a feast for those attending the CM’s Janata Darshan. The pandal measures 200x300 ft with a seating capacity of 10,000!
The cost could be anywhere between Rs 35-50 lakh, said an organiser.
Karegudda has metamorphosed – 25 acres meant for the programme was cleared of thorny bushes with the help of half-a-dozen earthmovers and road rollers. Apart from new toilets for the accompanying delegation, one very posh bath cum toilet has been built next to the schoolroom where Mr Kumaraswamy will rest for the night, complete with a western commode, shower head sprinkler and running hot water from the new geyser. Reality bites for the CM!
