Coimbatore: Bomb blast accused held for bid to kidnap
Ransom to help kin of Farooq case accused.
Coimbatore: Three persons involved in a bomb blast case were held for attempting to kidnap a business man for ransom to give financial assistance to families of accused arrested in the murder of atheist Farooq.
The Ukkadam police arrested an eight-member gang in May for attempting to kidnap Inayathullah, a businessman from Coimbatore. During enquiry, the kidnappers confessed that that Kichan Bugari, Askar Ali and Sulbugar Ali, undergoing imprisonment in a prison in connection with a bomb blast case in Bangalore, had masterminded the kidnap.
Police booked them for conspiracy and all the three men were brought to Coimbatore with tight security on Tuesday. They were then produced before Coimbatore judicial Magistrate 5 Iniya Karunagaran, who ordered to keep them under judicial custody. They will be produced on August 7. The three men were lodged at the Coimbatore Central prison and will be taken to Bangalore on Wednesday morning.
