Nalini Sriharan to follow list of do’s and don’ts

Chennai: Nalini Sriharan, who has been incarcerated at Special Prison for Women in Vellore for nearly 28 years on charge of assassinating former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, has given an undertaking to jail authorities assuring that she would not meet any political leaders and activists during her month long parole.
She was released from the prison after she signed an undertaking as per direction of Madras high court order. She stepped out of prison in an orange and red silk saree amidst tight security.
Among others Nalini has assured that she would not meet anyone other than her family members during her month long parole and not leave Vellore. She assured the jail authorities that her conduct herself well and properly and appear before Sathuvacheri Police station every day to sign.
She assured that she will not meet anti social elements and not lead immoral life. Stating that she would not pose threat to public peace, Nalini has assured that she would not commit suicide. In case of violation of undertaking she would return to the prison. She will not give any interview or speak to media and not participate in any meeting or functions during her stay.
Nalini has assured that she would not meet any political leaders or members of any associations. She would not meet anyone except her family members. She assured that she would follow the instructions of escort/security personnel.
Nalini has come forward to stay under the supervision of security personnel. After completion of parole, she has assured that she would return to the prison at 5 pm on August 25, 2019.
On receiving the undertaking the superintendent (in-charge), special prison for women and jail officer have permitted her to leave the prison. For the first time since 1991, Nalini is out on parole for 30 days. Her daughter is expected to join her next week.
