DGP asks SPs to be vigilant following rains

Hyderabad: DGP Anjani Kumar on Wednesday directed SPs to be vigilant following the warning on possible rain in districts for three more days.

The DGP conducted a review meeting with SPs and enquired about the situation in districts in view of incessant rain which has been lashed for the past few days. Hours after the weather department issued a warning of possible heavy rain in eight districts in Telangana state, the DGP asked the people to contact police for emergency situations.

“If any emergency, citizens can be reached the police by dialing 100 for getting police service. Due to incessant rain, lakes, canals, and rivers are in brim and people not to date visit lakes and streams. Following the weather department officials warning of possible rain, people must take measures. SPs will also review the situation in all police stations in connection with rain," the DGP said. Police and NDRF teams swung into action in the Bhadradri Kothagudem district by shifting people from low-lying areas to the safest places due to incessant rain.
