Saubhgya Yojna not new scheme, Modi govt renamed old project: Digvijaya
Prime Minister Modi launched the Saubhagya Yojna on Monday to mark the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya.
Raipur: Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on Tuesday alleged that Saubhagya Yojna which was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday is not a new project.
Singh, while talking to media in Raipur, said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweaked the name of an old scheme which is functional since the Congress' regime.
"The name of the yojna has been changed from Rajiv Gandhi to Deen Dayal Updhayaya. They (BJP government) only change the names of Yojnas; these Yojnas have been continuing since Congress party's tenure," Singh told media here in Raipur.
Clarifying that he doesn't have an issue with Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, Singh claimed that it is the Prime Minister who does not seems to be influenced by the Pandit's thinking.
"Only by taking his name, the real sense of his words are not being accomplished by BJP, by Raman Singh or Modi ji," Singh said.
Singh also alleged that the current National Democratic Alliance (NDA)-led government would have lost the last elections in 2014 if it weren't for the unfair means they had used.
Prime Minister Modi launched the Saubhagya Yojna on Monday to mark the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya.
Prime Minister also formally inaugurated ONGC's new corporate office that was renamed Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Urja Bhawan, from Rajiv Gandhi Urja Bhawan.
The main agenda of this Yojna is to provide substitution to kerosene, improve educational services, improve health services, improve mode of communications, improve in public safety and increase job opportunity.
