Chennai: Hold elections soon, says VCK chief Thol Thirumavalvan

Chennai: VCK chief Thol Thirumavalavan has called upon the Election Commission of India to take steps to hold elections to all the 18 seats held by the disqualified legislators and also the Tiruvarur and Thirupparankundram Assembly constituencies at the earlierst. “Though the verdict is shocking and may set a wrong precedent, we feel that the MLAs action will not come under the anti defection law. We want the by-elections to be held soon,” he said.

CPI (M) leader K. Balakrishnan, TNCC chief Su Thirunavukkarasar and MDMK chief Vaiko said the ECI should hold elections to the 20 constituencies soon.
