Telangana revenue staff protest over gravel mafia

Nizamabad: Revenue employees staged a dharna in front of collectorate on Saturday protesting against the threats by the gravel mafia. Under the aegis of Telangana revenue employees joint action committee, they sat outside Pragathi Bhavan wearing black badges while demanding stringent action against Vinod Raj Goud, who allegedly threatened RDO Vinod Kumar.

Tahsildars, deputy tahsildars, revenue inspectors, VRO, VRAs and others raised slogans against the mafia. They said that Mr Goud and others are running a gravel mafia in Makloor mandal by violating rules and regulations. They have threatened that the revenue officials will face dire consequences if they prevent their illegal activities. TRESA president T. Surya Prakash, secretary L. Raman Reddy, TNGOs district president A. Kishan, secretary Sathish Reddy, collectorate administrative officer Sridhar and others were present.
