Hyderabad: Telangana Congress leaders boycotted the Governor’s traditional ‘At Home’ on Republic Day, alleging that he was making a mockery of the Constitution.

They said that when Congress leaders met the Governor recently to submit a memorandum on the sand mafia, Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan had heated arguments with them.

The Congress leaders also found fault with the Governor for praising Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and irrigation minister T. Harish Rao and the government after his recent visit to the Kaleshwaram project.

However, Congress MP Rapolu Anand Bhaskar and former minister Danam Nagender attended the ‘At Home’.

They told mediapersons they had not received any communication from the party on boycotting the programme.
