Tollywood actress Swathi Reddy goes missing, returns by evening
She said she was disgusted as her mother was harassing her for money.
Hyderabad: A brief “disappearance” of Tollywood actress and Legend movie fame Swathi Reddy created a sensation for a while on Friday morning. It started with a complaint from the actress’s mother to Banjara Hills police that her daughter went missing from her home. The mother, K Nagendramma, alleged that Swathi’s friend, one Srinivas Reddy, took her out in the dead of the night.
As the cops got ready to size up the situation and made a few phone calls, the actress dramatically showed up at the police station. She said she was disgusted as her mother was harassing her for money. However, there was no dispute among them, Swathi stressed, and she also denied that she knew the Srinivas Reddy her mother had mentioned to the police. The mother quickly withdrew her complaint.
Nagendramma stated in the complaint that Swathi was introduced to Srinivas Reddy, a native of Guntur, two months ago. He was already married and had two children. Since the time she met him, the mother “noticed a change in her behaviour.” Thursday, while she and her daughter were sleeping at their Yousufguda residence, Srinivas came to their home and took Swathi with him. That was around 2am, she said.
“She also carried her Gold jewellery with her. I tried calling her on her mobile, but she did not answer my calls,” the mother said in her complaint. “Swathi turned up at the police station a few hours after her mother lodged the complaint. She said that she left home on her own will, that there was no kidnap, and that she had no affair with anyone,” police said.
Police said there however was some fresh tension at the police station as Swathi walked in and engaged in an argument with her mother. “We have made a GD entry of the issue and counselled both,” said a police official.
