Bengaluru: Forgot to get yourself registered for this year's tenth edition of the Bengaluru International Film Festival (BIFFes)? Are you missing all the action from the world of cinema? Then here is a chance to enjoy the festival treat as the organisers have started to issue daily passes but only on a limited basis.

“There was a huge demand for daily passes since the start of the festival but due to the high percentage of registered members  this year, it was very difficult to accommodate more members, especially with the weekend rush on. However, we have decided to issue limited passes for the benefit of cinema lovers,” says a BIFFes official.

On Monday, the daily passes sold like hot cakes within hours with at least 200 lucky ones able to buy the passes. The officials say that they will issue the passes on Tuesday too.

The daily passes are priced at Rs 300 with which the members can avail the benefits of registered members such as watch movies, take part in interactive sessions, lectures and master classes.

“I had failed to register this time and being a cinema lover, I was eagerly waiting for the daily passes.  The moment I learnt through their official site and social platforms about daily passes being issued, I rushed to the venue and bought the pass. For some reason, many would have failed to register themselves and the organisers should ensure some facility for them too. There may be people ready to pay more and avail the benefits,” said a student, who managed to grab hold of the limited daily pass.

However, an official felt that if such facilities are made available on a regular basis, it may deter many film lovers from getting themselves registered, assuming that they can always get the daily passes later on.
