Srinagar: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) which is probing an alleged terror-funding case in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday raided the homes of separatist leaders including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik to conduct searches. Mr. Malik is currently under ‘preventive custody’ of the J&K police.

These raids came a few days after the government withdrew security cover to eighteen separatist leaders and activ-ists including the Mirw-aiz and Mr Bhat. Soon after the NIA conducted searches in the home of Mr Malik in Srinagar’s Maisumam, the congested area erupted with the activists and supporters of his Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) taking to the streets to chant pro-freedom slogans.
