Hyderabad: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said e-Pragati shall be implemented in three phases. It will take the government closer to the people and enhance the convenience of citizens in their transactions with the government.

Under the project, a majority of the services will be made available on mobile phones. The chief minister said that Andhra Pradesh is the first state in the country to have decided to implement a comprehensive enterprise architecture, treating the government as one entity and not 33 departments and 315 agencies.

Speaking in the Assembly on Saturday, Mr Naidu said transactions with 10 departments of the Secretariat and the Heads of the Departments (HODs) will be digitised in the first phase, 10 more departments in the second phase and 13 remaining departments in the third phase.

He said phase-I comprises of 72 projects, grouped into 14 packages of related departments. He said that the implementation of e-Pragati is based on the principle of centralised planning and decentralised implementation. The first phase of e-Pragati is expected to be completed by Sept. 2017.
