Kottayam: As part of the e-governance initiatives, the Mahatma Gandhi University will switch over to digital file movement system on April 15. Networking of 200 cloud computers on the track-proven software based on digital document filing system (DDFS) is nearing completion and is expected to be ready next week.

All applications will be scanned using HD scanners and forwarded instantly to the concerned sections. In the first stage, 100 master trainers will get lessons from the service provider, and they will train the entire staff. Proceedings of the Syndicate will also come on the DDFS.

All sections except the exam wing will come under the network in the first phase. Digitisation will ensure speedy disposal of files and to enhance productivity, efficiency and transparency, officials said. The entire campus will get free wi-fi access.
