Tirupati: Celestial wedding draws crowds

The procession of Mutyala Talambralu took place from TTD administrative building.

TIRUPATI: In connection with celestial wedding of Sri Rama Chandra Murthy and Sita Devi in Sri Kodanda Rama Swamy temple in Tirupati on Monday, the procession of Mutyala Talambralu took place from TTD administrative building. Earlier, a special puja was performed in TTD treasury where the precious Mutyalu were placed. TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal carried the "Talambralu" over his head and handed it over to the chief priest Anandakumar Dikshitulu.

Speaking on this occasion, the EO said, "The procession of Talambralu from TTD administrative building is in vogue since 1984. TTD has made elaborate arrangements for the big religious wedding. Buttermilk and prasadam will be distributed to devotees who take part in the Kalyanam. On March 27, there will be coronation ceremony of Lord Sri Rama in the temple between 7pm and 8:30pm". Meanwhile, the chief priest carried the Talambralu on the temple elephant in a procession covering TK Street, Gandhi Road, Sri Govinda Raja Swamy temple south mada street, Bazaar street and reached the Sri KRT temple.
