Hyderabad Metro, IT companies discuss last mile transport

This follows the commencement of Metro Rail services on the Ameerpet-Hitec City stretch.

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited managing director N.V.S. Reddy held a meeting with the representatives of major IT/ITES firms and developers of IT campuses regarding first and last mile connectivity for Metro trains.

This follows the commencement of Metro Rail services on the Ameerpet-Hitec City stretch.

Indicating the availability of parking places at Durgam Cheruvu, Hitec City (cellar of Hitec Mall) and Madhapur stations to begin with, Mr N.V.S. Reddy and L&TMRHL MD K.V.B. Reddy requested them to earmark some parking places on their respective campuses for parking feeder service vehicles.

When most of the IT company representatives requested for introduction of monthly passes and “station to station trip” passes, Mr K.V.B. Reddy promised that they would be introduced soon.

On the issue of easing queues at Hitec City and other busy Metro stations, L&TMRHL Chief Operating Officer Mr  Anil Saini suggested to the IT companies to opt for bulk purchase of Metro Rail smart cards and indicated that those who were interested may contact Mr Rishi Verma of L&TMRHL on 994915833.
