Police seize revolver from man near Karur SP's office
Police said personnel who were on bandobust duty intercepted the man and examined the cloth bag he was carrying.
Karur: Police seized a revolver from a 39-year-old man moving around the office of superintendent of police, Karur, in a suspicious manner Monday night. Police said personnel who were on bandobust duty intercepted the man and examined the cloth bag he was carrying. A revolver was found in it.
Preliminary enquiries revealed he was one Venkatesan of K. Paramathi village. When he went to his relative’s house near the district court complex, a youth met him, gave the revolver and asked him to hand it over to the office of the superintendent of police.
When he refused, the youth threatened him. Afraid, Venkatesan said he brought the weapon to hand it over to the office of police superintendent. After seizing the revolver, police let Venkatesan go after obtaining a written undertaking that he would appear before police for inquiry whenever wanted.
