Karur: Ms. Jothimani, Congress candidate for the Karur Lok Sabha urged on Friday that the counting of votes in Karur Lok Sabha constituency should be undertaken only after shifting of Karur collector and returning officer of the constituency
T. Anbazhagan, as he allegedly functioned like a ruling AIADMK functionary and extended "all sorts of favouritism" to the AIADMK.
She told newsmen at Karur on Thursday, following a complaint by DMK- front leaders that there was inadequate security for the EVMs kept at the counting centre in a private engineering college at Thalavaipalayam village. The complaint has been sent to the Election Commission of India, Additional chief electoral officer Rajaraman who inspected the counting centre and suggested further beefing of the security at the counting centre.
Ms. Jothimani said she was hopeful the EC would shift Mr Anbazhagan and order for counting after replacing him before May 23.
