Thiruvananthapuram: Prime minister Mr Narendra Modi’s reference to BJP workers being killed while casting vote at an election meeting in Varanasi earlier in the day, has evoked angry response from Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

The Chief minister  said RSS workers who indulge in violence in will get no safe haven in Kerala.

“In BJP ruled states including Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat the Sangh Parivar rioters are getting full protection and encouragement. But they will not get the same support in Kerala. There is no separate law for the Sangh Parivar in the state. The rioter, whoever he may be, will be brought to justice,” he added.

On what basis is the prime minister saying that BJP workers in Kerala are not able to come out of their houses for the fear of being attacked?

Which BJP worker feels unsure of return home safe in Kerala ? he asked. It is highly condemnable that Prime Minister is trying to insult a state which has the best track record of peace and law and order and the peaceful people of the state.

According to Centre’s crime records bureau, incidence of violence and murders are the lowest in Kerala.

Before making such false statements, it is astonishing that the Prime Minister didn’t refer to the Centre’s National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) statistics.

The Chief Minister said RSS is constantly trying to unleash communalism to destroy the peace and tranquillity of people. The people of Kerala have foiled such moves by standing united. These baseless statements are being made by the Prime Minister because of the fear of the setback that forces of communalism and hated are going to receive in Kerala and other parts of the country in the elections.

Mr Vijayan alleged that RSS had no qualms in spreading any kind of lie. “They have a special way and system for spreading lies. They triggered communal violence in many parts of the country through such rumours and lies. It is unfortunate the Prime Minister is using a peaceful state like Kerala for spreading lies,” the Chief Minister added.
