Amaravati: Hostel starts at new Secretariat building for secretariat employees

Amaravati: Bachelor hostel/paying guest facility to secretariat employees in and around Mandadam will be started.

First bachelor hostel facility starts very near to temporary secretariat on a walkable distance. The secretariat employees working at Hyderabad are reluctant to shift with their families and are planning to stay single to work from temporary secretariat at Velagapudi.

Some private businessmen are starting bachelor hostel facility with food facility at Mandadam, adjacent to Velagapudi. They are offering sharing rooms for four to six members with Rs 2,500 per head rent for staying and with food Rs 6,000 per head.

They are also offering air-conditioned accommodation for Rs 7,500 with food and Rs 3,500. If the  employees want to share a room with two or three members, then the rent per head would be Rs 10,000 with food facilty.

Bangalore-based event manager A. Arjun Reddy with P. Ramanajneyulu and Adi Narayana planned to start hospitality business three months ago in the new capital Amaravati.

Mr Arjun Reddy, speaking to Deccan Chronicle, said that first he thought about starting a hotel with boarding facility and toured the Amaravati capital region. He mentioned the he came to know about the plans of Secretariat employees about moving single to temporary secretariat at Velagapudi from Hyderabad without families.

He said that further he enquired about the requirement of hostel facility with the secretariat employees so changed his plan and started hostel. He explained that they have taken total seven apartments for Athidi Home hostels in which four are in Mandadam and three are in Undavalli.

Mr Arjun said that presently hostel accommodation is available to 350 members. He stated that three new apartments were under construction at Mandadam which would be readied by June 25 giving accommodation to more employees. Already 25 persons working at the temporary secretariat place were joined their hostel where accommodation with food is  available.

Mr Arjun said that lot of enquiries were coming from secretariat employees  and they will start bookings on June 2 in the secretariat at Hyderabad. Secretariat employees K. Nageswarlu and others said that the hostel  accommodation is good but it is good if the government itself operates hostels for the  employees.
