He said the books have also been prepared and these will be available by the time of opening of the colleges. The first year engineering classes will start from June 27. All affiliated engineering colleges have been informed of the new syllabus and courses.
University officials are planning to give training on the new syllabus if colleges want. The JNTU-K officials said that faculty training has been done and the faculty in affiliated colleges are aware on the new syllabus.
Sources said that university officials took opinions from several multi-national companies such as Reliance and others on what syllabus they want. Experts from pharmaceutical companies also participated in the discussion.
Officials made efforts for one month on the new curriculum and designed it. Padma Raju said there are vast changes in electronics and computer engineering streams and new techniques have emerged in civil engineering, petroleum and petrochemical engineering and other streams. “We paid attention on such technologies,” he said.
