Telangana state formation: 3-day festivity to begin from June 2
The government has released Rs 15 lakh for each of the 31 districts towards organising the celebrations.
HYDERABAD: The third anniversary of Telangana state formation will be celebrated for three days starting June 2. The day will be celebrated with cultural programmes highlighting Telangana culture and traditions, apart from a Telangana food festival. The celebrations will continue for the next two days with the launch of welfare schemes.
The government has released Rs 15 lakh for each of the 31 districts towards organising the celebrations.
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will launch the celebrations on June 2 by paying tributes at Telangana martyrs memorial at Gun Park near the Assembly and proceed to the Parade Grounds to take part in the celebrations.
Ministers, MPs, MLAs and MLCs will launch the “KCR Kits” scheme in all government hospitals to encourage institutional deliveries. They will distribute 15 types of essential items to pregnant woman and the newborns. Besides, an amount of Rs 12,000 will be credited to the bank accounts of each pregnant woman in rural areas and Rs 15,000 in urban areas towards financial assistance.
