Kerala tops in CBSE results
The all-India overall pass percentage is 83.01 which is up by one per cent from last year.
Thiruvananthapuram: Thiruvananthapuram region topped in the CBSE standard XII results with an overall 97. 32 pass percentage. The all-India overall pass percentage is 83.01 which is up by one per cent from last year. The results were announced in Delhi on Saturday. The Chennai region came second with 93.87 per cent followed by Delhi with 89 percent. While all-India topper, Meghana Srivastava from Noida, Uttar Pradesh, got 499 out of 500 marks, three Kerala toppers, all girls, in the three streams scored 496. This is the fourth rank in the all-India list.
The second topper, Anoushka Chandra, also from Uttar Pradesh, is just one mark behind the national topper with 498. The third is Chahat Bodhraj from Rajasthan with 497 marks. The toppers from Kerala in the three streams are the following: Arts stream: Kasturi Sha, 496, Saraswati Vidyalaya, Vattiyoorkavu, Thiruvananthapuram. Science Stream: Nanda Vinod, 496 , Kendriya Vidyala, Kannur. Commerce stream: Maehal Barthwal, 496, Navy Children School, Naval Base, Kochi.
A student with disabilities from the state got all-India first in that category. He is A. Vijay Ganesh of Lions School, Palakkad, who got 492 marks. Of the total 38,934 students who appeared for the examinations from the state, 37,706 passed. Of them, 19,291 are girls (19,674 appeared) and 18,415 boys (19,260 appeared). Girls have outshone boys at the all-India level with an overall pass percentage of 88.31 compared to 78.09 of boys. The date for releasing Class 10 results is yet to be announced.
