Digging up newly-laid road in Bowenpally draws public ire
SCB authorities were forced to take up the pipeline work.
Hyderabad: Residents of Bowenpally complain of wastage of public money as the recently laid road at Bapujinagar from Centre Point to Bowenpally Junction is being dug up as underground pipeline work is progressing. Due to this, there is a lot of inconvenience to the public, according to residents.
N. Madhukar, who lives in the Sail Colony nearby, and who uses the road regularly said, “This is a newly laid road and it is not even two weeks since they have laid it. Now, they have started digging it up for doing some pipeline work. They could have checked it before and laid the road. Now it is a huge loss for the public exchequer. Even the manholes were also re-worked only after the road was laid.” Road widening work had taken place recently at Bowenpally where the 40-feet road was widened to 70-feet by the SCB
When asked about the sudden pipeline work, J. Maheshwar Reddy, Elected Ward member, Ward 1, said that the 15-year-old underground pipelines were choked and it created pressure. As a result, the road got ruptured and the
SCB authorities were forced to take up the pipeline work.
