Lokesh Lokesh guns for YSRC after TD man’s murder, 5 surrender

The police suspect turf war and land disputes to be the main reason for the murder of Uma Yadav.

Vijayawada: Five of the accused in the brutal murder of TD leader Tadiboyina Uma Yadav surrendered before the police on Wednesday.  

YSRC leader T. Srinivasa Rao Yadav along with his followers surrendered before Mangalagiri DSP G. Rama Krishna, even as investigation into the murder that took place in Mangalagiri town late on Tuesday, continued.

The police suspect turf war and land disputes to be the main reason for the murder of Uma Yadav.

The five people who surrendered were identified as Tota Srinivasarao Yadav, Saidulu, Panayya, Gopi and Hanumantha Rao, who involved in the murder surrendered before. Two others remain at large.

The murder created a tense atmosphere in the town, and for some time it was on the verge of taking a turn for the worse; TD activists even tried to attack a YSRC leader's residence in the wake of the killing.

Meanwhile, TD leader Nara Lokesh visited the residence of Uma Yadav and expressed sympathy with his family.

He demanded the arrest of all the accused in the murder.

Mr Lokesh alleged that attacks on TD leaders and activists had increased since the day the YSRC came to power in the state.

Mr Lokesh also alleged that since the day the YSRC came to power, at least six TD supporters were killed and 130 attacked and their properties damaged by YSRC supporters.

“A Bihar-like governance is prevailing in AP,” he said.
