Kochi: The Angamali judicial first class magistrate court has accepted the prosecution's request to hold the judicial proceedings in the actor assault case in camera. This was done for the security of the actress involved in the case. The prosecution had earlier objected to providing the victim's confidential statement to the defence.
The leakage of confidential contents of the documents would raise serious issues, including security of the victim, the prosecution had claimed. The high court recently had observed that the crime committed on the actress was cruel, unique and diabolic. The public would not be permitted inside the courtroom while hearing the case, it said.
