Hyderabad: Student ends life as he failed to speak English

Murali had an inferiority complex' as he could not speak in English.

HYDERABAD: Unable to speak in English, a 23-year-old hotel management student committed suicide on Wednesday evening at his residence in Kavadiguda  R. Srinivas, inspector of Gandhinagar police station said that K. Murali had an ‘inferiority complex’ as he could not speak in English at his college.
“Murali was a first year hotel management student and he came from a rural background. Depres-sed that  he could not communicate in English during his classes, Murali felt he had failed his parents. He wrote about it in his suicide note,” said the official. 

According to M. Prasad, sub-inspector of Gandhinagar police station, Murali hanged himself to death in his rented flat at 7 pm when his roommates went out for tea.  The officials also recovered a suicide note from the body.  “He wrote that he was feeling extremely low about his inablity to carry on a conversation in  English,” the official said.

Murali was studying in a hotel management college in Khairatabad and his family lives in Suryapet.  According to the inspector, Murali recently witnessed the suicide of one of his close relative, and that could have also added to his depression. A case has been registered at Gandhinagar police station and they have launched an investigation.
