Hyderabad: The state government's online education initiative, T-Sat, set up to educate people online, has touched the two-lakh subscribers mark on YouTube and has garnered 31 million views.

Minister K.T. Rama Rao, who participated in the first anniversary celebrations, said that through T-Sat the government wants to penetrate into rural areas.

He called upon T-SAT and Telangana State Council of Higher Education to work together to increase the participation of youth in Central government jobs by developing quality course material.

“T-SAT services are being well-received by aspirants of competitive exams. Through the T-SAT channel, we have to penetrate into rural areas and help many middle-class families to avoid spending heavily on private tuitions,” Mr Rama Rao said at the fete.

It may be mentioned here that T-Sat uses GSAT 8 satellite and telecasts four channels.

T-SAT Nipuna and T-Sat Vidya cater to students using the distance learning mode, agriculture extension, rural development, tele-medicine and e-governance requirements of the people.
