Hyderabad: Three days after a 21-year-old girl was lured with a job offer and kidnapped, the Hayathnagar police of the Rachakonda commissionerate is yet to trace the victim.

According to Rachakonda police, it all started at about 7.15 am on Wednesday at a hotel run by Mr E Yadaiah, 43, at Bonguluru Gate under Ibrahimpatnam police limits. An unidentified person went to the hotel in a car (AP 39 AQ 1686) and met Mr Yadaiah. The stranger claimed to be a surgeon at Osmania General Hospital and told Mr Yadaiah that his parents worked as judges in the city and that he had high influence.
Mr Yadaiah said his daughter E. Soni was doing her B.Pharmacy third year at a private college in Kothagudem and his son David was an intermediate student. The stranger asked him to call his children and he could provide a job to Soni by using his influence.
He took the family in his car and drove towards LB Nagar. After driving around for some time, he dropped David at LB Nagar crossroads. He drove with Mr Yadaiah and Ms Soni to the Assembly, Secretariat and Necklace Road.
At about 8.50 pm, he took them to Hayathnagar and stopped near a bus stop and asked Yadaiah to get a print of Ms Soni’s details. As soon as Mr Yadaiah got down from the car, the stranger fled from there with the girl, said the police, who registered a case of kidnap.
David, while travelling in the car, had taken a video on his mobile phone in which the face of the suspect was partially seen. Sources said the accused was identified as habitual offender Ravi Shankar, a native of Andhra Pradesh, but the police did not confirm this.
Sources said that the police managed to trace the car owner and learned that it was stolen a few weeks ago from Karnataka. Special teams were formed and sent to various parts of AP and Karnataka based on the technical clues.
