BHADRACHALAM: Bhadrachalam district administration is facing a tough time dealing with floods on one hand and checking spread of diseases on the other.

District officials, though overwhelmed at the beginning of floods, developed a good plan and worked as per it. Yet, there is more to be done as the flood level still remained above 40 feet on Tuesday too.

Bhadradri collector Anudeep said, “We are giving equal importance to both flood relief works and preventing outbreak of diseases. Fever teams are visiting villages and taking details of patients. The list of beneficiaries requiring flood assistance is also being readied.”

Sanitation works are being carried out on a war-footing in flood-affected areas. Bleaching, fogging and spraying is being done to check mosquitoes and bacteria. Sanitation workers have been roped in from various municipalities and corporations in the district.

Revenue inspectors developed a chart and have deployed sanitation workers accordingly in flood-affected colonies of Bhadrachalam. Cleanliness in
flood-affected areas is the top priority to prevent any outbreak of diseases.
