Maps of new Telangana districts online; people invited for suggestion
Telangana government uploaded the 28 maps of new 27 districts and one of the entire state, online on Friday.
Hyderabad: Maps of the 27 districts of Telangana State, including those of the 10 existing and the 17 proposed ones, are now available for the people to view.
People can access these maps online by visiting the website www.newdistrictsformation.telangana.gov.in.
The TS government uploaded the 28 maps — 27 districts and one of the entire state — online on Friday. The maps have been kept in public domain to enable the people to submit their objections / suggestions, if any, on reorganisation of existing districts and creation of new ones.
All objections / suggestions would be examined by the government before it issues the final notification on new districts by September-end.
The TS government has already announced that the new districts would come into existence on October 11, Dasara day. The maps have been designed by CCLA Raymond Peter with the technical support of TS Remote Sensing Application Centre.
The maps show the location and boundaries of all districts, Assembly constituencies, revenue divisions, mandals and their boundaries, railway lines, national and state highways, rivers, irrigation projects, reservoirs etc.
Already, 5,100 objections / suggestions have been submitted on the online portal since the draft notification on new districts was issued on August 22.
While reorganisation of Karimnagar district received highest number of objections /suggestions at 1,572, the least was recorded by Adilabad district at 143.
The other districts include Warangal (979), Mahbubnagar (910), Nalgonda (831), Ranga Reddy (235), Medak (164), Khammam (156) and Nizamabad (93). People can submit their objections/ suggestions till September 23.
The government plans to hold one more all-party meeting after this to discuss hte objections/ suggestions and issue the final draft notification by September-end.
