Seize bar, says Secunderbad Cantonment Board's Army panel
Following this, the committee recommended the seizure of Yet 99.
Hyderabad: Army officers who are part of the health and sanitation committee of the Secunderbad Cantonment Board have strongly recommended the seizure of a bar called Yet 99 located at Trimulgherry as it has failed to meet sanitation standards
The Army officers also inspected the McDonald outlet at Trimulgherry and asked it to submit certification on sanitation measures being followed.
The SCB health and sanitation committee inspected a few hotels in its jurisdiction including Pallet Tips, Moon Rock, Satya Bar and restaurant, Vishal Bar.
Following this, the committee recommended the seizure of Yet 99. “It was identified that the meat served was not fresh and the kitchen hygiene did not meet the standards. Food was scattered all over,” said the SCB health inspector.
The Army officials, who are nominated members of the Cantonment Board, earlier stated that trade licences were being issued to commercial establishments, mainly hotels, without a field inspection on their sanitation.
Following this, a committee was formed comprising Army, SCB health and sanitation officials and the Chief Executive Officer of the board and two ward members.
The committee after inspection can recommend action to be taken to the Cantonment Board but does not have the power to take direct action.
The CEO of the board is empowered to seize or shut down an establishment for violating norms. There are close to 500 hotels in the SCB jurisdiction.
