Rajahmundry: As many as 20 expert cooks wearing ‘Ganesh mala’ will prepare embark on preparing the proposed record-breaking 12,500-kg laddu on the premises of Suruchi Foods at Tapeswaram in East Godavari after installing a Ganesh idol.
Work will begin on September 2 and the prepared laddu will be decorated on September 3 and put on display for the general public on September 4.
On the evening on September 4, the 12,500-kg laddu, if all goes well, will be placed on a multi-axle vehicle using high-capacity cranes and taken out in a procession. It will reach its destination of Gajuwaka on September 5, the day of the Festival. It will be then offered to the Lord that day and distributed to the devotees.
A 500-kg laddu will be simultaneously prepared and will be sent to Khairatabad, Hyderabad, on September 4.
The laddu will be offered to the 58-feet idol after Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan and his wife Vimala offer special prayers at Khairatabad.
