Telangana Genco to begin work on Yadadri plant

TS Genco has decided to start work on the 4,000-MW Yadadri ultra power project immediately as all permissions had been accorded.

Hyderabad: TS Genco has decided to start work on the 4,000-MW Yadadri ultra power project immediately as all permissions had been accorded. TS Genco chairman and managing director D. Prabhakar Rao on Saturday held a meeting with BHEL and Genco officials where the project design was approved along the guidelines issued by the Expert Appraisal Committee of the Union environment ministry.

Mr Prabhakar Rao will hold a meeting with BHEL chairman and managing director Atul Sobti and take a final decision on the expenditure on administrative, technical issues of the Rs 17,000 crore project.

It was decided to start all the units at one time. Mr Prabhakar Rao said the Power Finance Corporation and Rural Electricity Corporation had come forward to extend financial support for the project.
