Light rain forecast in GHMC limits
Hyderabad will have cloudy skies with a few spells of rain or thundershowers over the next week.
Hyderabad: The state is expected to receive light to moderate rain or thundershowers at many places in Telangana for the next five days. Isolated heavy rain is likely to occur over Telangana and coastal Andhra Pradesh. Same is the case with the capital city Hyderabad with moderate rainfall likely to occur in most parts of the GHMC area starting from the Western part.
While rainfall ranging between 2.50-15.90mm was witnessed in areas of Kukatpally, Gajularamaram, Alwal, Qutubullapur, Malkajgiri, Kapra on Sunday, very light rainfall was witnessed in other parts of the city.

The southwest monsoon has been weak over Telangana. The state has received 16 per cent more rainfall from June 1 to August 26 while the capital city has received 22 per cent less rainfall.
According to India Meteorological Department’s inference, a low pressure area over coastal areas of West Bengal and north Odisha and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal now lies over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal and north coastal Odisha. The associated cyclonic circulation now extends upto 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting south- westwards with height. The system is likely to become more marked during the next 24 hours. An East West shear zone runs at 7.6 km roughly along latitude 15.0 degree over India region.
