GVMC staff get set to raze Ganta Srinivasa Rao’s office
Rao had obtained a stay order recently and the case will come up for hearing on Tuesday.
Visakhapatnam: Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation is waiting for the directions of the High Court to demolish an office belonging to former minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao at Bheemili in Visakhapatnam district.
Mr Rao had obtained a stay order recently and the case will come up for hearing on Tuesday. If the direction is against Mr Rao, the GVMC is all set to demolish the illegal construction.
GVMC commissioner G. Srijana said: “Without any doubt, it can be said that it is an illegal building. It is within the CRZ limits and cannot be regularised. The building has no approved plan and it has two to three violations in its name. I have already given the orders to demolish it and the court has given the stay order. We will wait for court directions and if the court refuses to extend the stay, we will demolish the building.”
It has been learnt that the building was bought in the name Mr Rao’s family member.
