Sale of fake coins: Man sentenced

Raju had tried to sell fake gold coins to Attica.

Bengaluru: The 56th Chief Metropolitan Magistrate has sentenced a man for trying to cheat Attica Gold Private Company Ltd in the city with fake gold coins, to three months of simple imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs 2,000 on him.

Amaranarayan (29) of Mariyappanapalya in Jnanabharathi police station limits on October 10, 2017, along with his accomplice Raju had tried to sell fake gold coins to Attica. Following a complaint, the Jnanabharathi police had booked a cheating case against him under IPC sections 420 and 511 read with Section 34 and arrested him. The court has ordered extension of the imprisonment by seven days if the convict fails to pay the fine.
