NDRF plants 1,000 saplings in Mangalagiri

300 NDRF personnel take part in the plantation programme held under Swachhta hi Seva in Mangalagiri.

GUNTUR: The NDRF conducted a green rally and tree plantation programme to bring about awareness among the people about the need to plant saplings under the Swachhata Hi Sewa initiative at Mangalagiri in Guntur district on Tuesday. 

Mangalagiri municipal chairman G. Chiranjeevi stressed on the need to check the increasing day and night temperatures of late. He appealed to the public to plant more saplings to protect the environment. 

Around 300 NDRF personnel, led by  Assistant Commandant D.N. Singh,  planted 1,000 saplings at the Mangalagiri Government Bungalow, NRI Hospital circle, Nidamarru road and other roads in the town. The NDRF conducted a rally in the Mangalagiri carrying placards on the green drive.
