Justice Arumughaswamy panel summons Dr Sivakumar on September 28

The fresh summon was issued to Sivakumar to obtain details regarding treatment provided by doctors to Jaya during 2014 to 2016.

Chennai: Justice Arumughaswamy Commission on Wednesday summoned Dr K.S. Sivakumar, doctor who coordinated treatment provided to former CM J. Jayalalithaa, to appear before the Commission of Inquiry on September 28.

The Commission directed Dr Sivakumar to appear before it for the fifth time. Earlier, Dr Sivakumar, a son-in-law of one of V.K. Sasikala's brothers, appeared before the Commission on January 8, March 14, May 2 and May 26.

 The fresh summon was issued to Sivakumar to obtain details regarding treatment provided by doctors to Jaya during 2014 to 2016. The commission directed him to provide all the details regarding type of treatment provided to her and medicines given to her during the period. The Commission directed him to submit details in person.

 Similarly, the Commission has also summoned Mohangkumar, Manager -Legal, Dr Meera, Radiologist and Dr Thavapalani of Emergency Care, Apollo Hospital. The Commission directed them to appear before the Commission on September 28.

 On December 5, Jayalalithaa passed away after being treated in the hospital for 75 days from September 22, 2016. In September 2017, the state government had constituted the probe panel to inquire into the circumstances leading to Jayalalithaa's hospitalisation, and treatment provided by the hospital till her death.
