Vijayawada: Agriculture minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy has said Agriculture Products’ Supportive Prices list will be displayed in village secreatariats.

The minister unveiled a wallpaper displaying the support prices for various agricultural products for the year 2023-24 at the state secretariat on Tuesday.

The minister emphasised that these support prices have been announced to ensure that farmers received fair and remunerative prices for their crops.

He recalled that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy had stated that the support prices would be given for the agricultural produce grown by farmers before the start of the farming season in the state.

“In line with the promise given by Jagan Mohan Reddy, we are announcing the support prices of various agricultural products for the year 2023-24,” he said.

Govardhan Reddy told the media that the support prices have been announced in such a way that the farmers will get remunerative prices for the crops grown.

Support price per quintal has been announced for 22 types of agricultural products like chilli, onion, small grains, sorghum, sajjalu, ragulu, maize, kandulu, pesalu, millet, groundnut, coconut, cotton, sweet potato, banana, soybean and sunflower.

He said the support prices will be displayed in all the Rythu Bharosa Centers in the state.

Farmers can sell their produce through the CM App (continuous monitoring of agriculture prices and procurement) at the Rythu Bharosa Centres without the hassle of middlemen and transportation costs.

The minister made it clear that, for the first time, a price stabilization fund of '3,000 crore has been set up to ensure affordable prices for the crops grown by the farmers in the state. Steps were being taken to ensure that the farmers got subsidized prices by constant monitoring.

That was why every Rythu Bharosa Kendra has been declared as a procurement center. Payments are made within 15 days of purchase to the farmers and priority will be given to small and marginal farmers in the purchase process.

The agriculture minister advised the farmers to register their crop details in e-Crap to sell the crops at supportive prices. After registration by village agricultural assistants at Rythu Bharosa Kendras or village agricultural assistants in the CM APP, farmers can immediately sell their produce.

He appealed to the farmers to ensure that the crops brought to Rythu Bharosa Kendras have met the basic minimum quality requirement.
