Vijayawada: The Supreme Court would, on Wednesday, take up hearing on Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu’s SLP challenging the AP High Court’s order dismissing his FIR quash petition in the skill development scam.

Naidu’s counsel Siddarth Luthra submitted a mention memo seeking hearing of Naidu’s SLP. Accordingly, Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud decided to hear the SLP.

Naidu, in his plea, asked the apex court to strike down the case booked against him in the skill development scam as the FIR was booked without taking prior permission from the Governor, “as was required” under the provisions of Section 17 A of Prevention of Corruption Act.

When Naidu’s counsels met the CJI on Monday, he asked them to get the case mentioned on Tuesday for hearing on Wednesday. They also informed him that Naidu was in judicial remand from September 10 after his arrest in the case in Nandyal.

The apex court will be having holidays from September 28 to October 2.
