17 Armed Forces personnel injured in road accident in Kutch

Gandhidham (Kutch): Seventeen Armed Forces personnel were injured when the staff bus they were travelling in met with an accident near Khavda village in Kutch district of Gujarat this morning, police said.

As many as 24 personnel were travelling on the bus which was on its way to Bhagwan Dattatrey temple located on Kala Dungar hillock.

The bus overturned due to a brake failure, police said. Of the 24 personnel, 20 belonged to the Navy and four to the Indian Air Force.

"Seventeen persons were injured after the bus overturned while going up the hillock towards the temple. The condition of two is critical," said Markand Chauhan, superintendent of police, Kutch (west).

The injured personnel were first taken to Khavda community health centre. Those seriously injured were further taken to the Army hospital in Bhuj, the SP said.
