YSRC sends Telugu Desam into a huddle
The YSRC president said that they would exert pressure on the Union govt in the coming Winter Session and later, the Budget Session.
Vijayawada: The YSR Congress chief's statement on the proposed resignation of party MPs in the name of special category status (SCS), after Parliament’s Budget session over special category status (SCS), has got TD strategists working. The YSRC president said that they would exert pressure on the Union government in the coming Winter Session and later, the Budget Session. By stating that Telangana was formed in the face of hardships, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has indicated that SCS too can be achieved by exerting effort. His statement came as a shock to the TD strategists, and now they are busy evaluating their equations with the BJP and drafting counter moves to combat the YSRC in the coming Winter session.
It is high time TD prepare for a battle on SCS in Parliament, a senior minister said and added that the YSRC strategy will suffocate the TD in the coming sessions. He also analysed that the TD, right now embroiled in encounter controversy, can’t afford to pay much attention on the SCS issue for another one month at least. “Under these circumstances, the coming Winter sessions are very crucial for the TD to counter the challenges posed by the YSRC. It is also difficult to face the YSRC MPs in Parliament,” he observed.
The TD leadership has been in a confident mood. A lot of Kapu leaders from the YSRC have been joining the ruling party over the last few months and the TD high command did not foresee any kind of strategic political threat from the YSRC. The sudden announcement by Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy in Kurnool about the proposed resignation of party MPs has prompted the TD high command to take stock of the situation.
Analysts and strategists available at the Telugu Desam headquarters have been advised to design a novel step to counter the YSRC’s tactics to face the onslaught in the winter session of Parliament.
