Hyderabad: Traffic diversions for BJP meet

A total of 100 traffic cops will be deployed to control the heavy traffic flow in view of the Yuva Morcha meeting at Parade Grounds.

Hyderabad: One hundred traffic cops have been pulled out from the city jurisdiction duty for the BJP meeting at Parade Grounds. A total of 100 traffic cops will be  deployed to control the heavy traffic flow in view of the Yuva Morcha meeting at Parade Grounds. If there is heavy traffic flow, diversions will be implemented accordingly, the traffic official said.

Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) youth wing of  the Bharatiya Janata Party will be organising Maha Adhiveshan, a three-day national convention in Hyderabad from October 26 to 28 at Parade grounds Secunderabad.

According to the organisers they are expecting as many as 72,000 delegates and on the last day, they are expecting a crowd of over 1,00,000 BJP supporters. BJP-ruled Chief Ministers and Cabinet Ministers will be also attending the event. 

N. Rahul, a regular commuter from Tarnaka to Hi tec City, mentioned, “Just because  its a national party political event hundreds of cops are deployed there. Then what happens to security in the rest of the city? How will traffic jams in those areas be controlled?”

Following diversions will be implemented. Vehicles coming from YMCA towards Begumpet will be diverted at YMCA Junction through Patny Junction and move towards Begumpet. Vehicles coming from Begumpet will be diverted from CTO Junction will take left towards  Rajiv Gandhi statue, Brooke Bond Trivoli, Sweekar Upkar and join at YMCA junction. Speaking to this newspaper, P. Venkat Ramana ACP said, “If there is heavy traffic inflow the vehicles will be diverted from CTO junction.” to YMCA circle otherwise.” 

BJP state president K. Laxman said, “The convention will be inaugurated by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh. BJP president Amit Shah is also expected to attend the convention along with several other national leaders from the party. Around two lakh people are expected to take part in a three-day long programme. BJYM national president Poonam Mahajan will preside the event”.
