Hyderabad: Truck hits ambulance with body, 2 sisters die, 5 injured
The official said the freezer that was carrying the body was not damaged in the accident.
Hyderabad: Two sisters travelling with the body of their relative were killed when a truck rammed into their ambulance near Bakri Chepayala on Saturday. The victims, K. Sunitha and M. Rani were heading to Husnabad from the city.
Five others in the ambulance survived with injuries, said a Siddipet (Rural) police official. Siddipet (Rural) sub-inspector S. Srinivas Reddy said Sunitha, 35, was a resident of Alwal, and Rani, 41, of Thurkapally, in Shameerpet.
The accident occurred when a speeding truck rammed into the ambulance from the rear. Both the vehicles overturned and Sunitha and Rani were killed on the spot. The truck driver escaped from the spot.

In another accident in Nalgonda, two labourers were killed when the truck in which they were travelling, with a load of plants, overturned near Chikatigudem at Nalgonda on Saturday. Police said the van, coming from Vijayawada, was travelling at igh speed.
Two labourers, identified as Nageshwar and Ramulu, sleeping in the van, were thrown on the road and killed on the spot.
