Chandrababu Cheated Women, Farmers: Botsa
Visakhapatnam: Education minister Botsa Satyanarayana has said Telugu Desam chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu “cheated women and farmers” during his term as chief minister.
Speaking to the media on the second day of the Samajika Sadhikara Bus Yatra in Vizianagaram on Friday, the minister showed the 2014 TD manifesto and said Naidu had promised to waive the loans of farmers and of the SHG groups and also impose prohibition.
“These were among the 600 promises made by the TD-BJP-Jana Sena combine. Chandrababu signed seven files on the day he took over as chief minister. But he ignored his promises. No loan was waived and liquor flowed in the state like water through belt shops.”
“Again he is coming up with several promises and wants the people to believe him,’’ Satyanarayana said and added that Naidu withdrew the 2019 manifesto from the party’s website to hoodwink the people.
The minister said, “Unlike Naidu, Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy fulfilled 98 per cent of the promises he made in the 2019 YSRC manifesto and those that were announced during his pada yatra.”
“During our bus yatra, we will tell the people how Chandrababu Naidu cheated the people and how our Jagan Mohan Reddy fulfilled his promises,’’ he said.
Satyanarayana said people realised how they were cheated by the TD government and they would not fall for their new promises now.
Answering questions, the minister said the YSRC government was not creating any obstructions to the TD wherever they held meetings. On Chandrababu Naidu cases, he said law was taking its course and the government was not interfering with these at any stage.
Later, addressing a public meeting in Gajapathinagaram, revenue minister Dharmana Prasada Rao elaborated on how Chandrababu Naidu made false promises to the farmers and women groups.
“Chandrababu Naidu gave house sites to the poor but the Janma Bhoomi committees collected hefty money from the beneficiaries,” he said.
Deputy chief minister Peedika Rajanna Dora and social welfare minister Merugu Nagarjuna, both ST and SC leaders, spoke on the benefits the SC, ST, BC and Minorities got from the YSRC government.
The ruling party’s regional coordinator Y.V. Subba Reddy and local MLAs of Vizianagaram district were present.
