Hyderabad man cheats people with fake guinness certificate, held
He has also got 18 different fake doctorate certificates from various international universities through one Arputha Raj whom he paid money.
Hyderabad: A person named Nagaraju alias Sourya Pratap Rana who made a fake Guinness Book of World Records certificate for himself and cheated people by showing it to them, was nabbed on Sunday, the police said.
According to the Task Force officials, Nagaraju, a resident of Saroornagar duped the people by saying that he had good contacts with officials of various international universities. He assured his victims of getting the degree they wanted by spending a few thousand rupees.
To make people believe, he made two fake Guinness Book of World Record stories. “The first certificate dated 2014, stated that he had completed 24 degrees in 24 years. While another dated 2015, stated that he had 32 degrees to his credit”, said Inspector Task Force (East) Mr S. Mohan Kumar.
He has also got 18 different fake doctorate certificates from various international universities through one Arputha Raj whom he paid money.
Later, Nagaraju himself started making certificates and supplying them to others. He collected money from them.
“Using the degree he obtained loan of '8 lakh from a bank. He also took a few snaps along with the celebrities and showed the-m and the fake Guinness Book of World Record certificates to the victims”, the Inspector said.
