Nizamabad: Residents plan to intensify stir over halt in tank works

Reportedly, they believe that the water tank in front of their homes may be anti-vastu.

Nizamabad: Construction of water tank in Mahalaxminagar colony under 6 division limits in Nizamabad has become controversial with TPCC official spokesman and Nizamabad urban Assembly constituency in-charge B. Mahesh Kumar Goud bringing a stay from the High Court against its construction.

Construction at the site stopped a few days back. People of Ganesh colony, First mayor street, Mahalaxminagar, New housing board colony, Srisainagar, Bhavaninagar, Srinivas colony, Vinayaknagar, Srinagar colony, Yendala towers areas were to benefit from the water tank. Instead of tap water, people in these areas have been depending on fluoride water. In view of this, residents expressed anger at the Congress leader for creating obstruction in the work on the water tank.

They observed a bandh in Vinayaknagar area recently in protest against the halting of the work demanding it to be resumed immediately. People also warned to intensify the agitation if the Congress leader fails to withdraw his case. It is believed that Mr Goud and two others raised objection over construction of water tank opposite their houses. Reportedly, they believe that the water tank in front of their homes may be anti-vastu.
